The Mountain Ranger Program Supervisor works closely with the Safety Services Manager to actively promote and protect the public safety and deliver an exceptional ski experience for winter guests. Supervise and coordinate a team of Mountain Rangers that directly support the efforts of the Gunstock Ski Patrol. Ensure all areas of responsibility operate in a fiscally responsible, guest-oriented, and safe manner and in compliance with resort guidelines and state regulations. As a guest-focused organization, it is the responsibility of all resort employees to create a WOW experience for our guests.

General Accountabilities

1. Safety Services Operations
   1. Coordinate and supervise daily trail opening and closing procedures and communicate effectively with Dispatch and Patrollers to ensure all trails are properly inspected prior to opening/closing.
   2. Manage the daily placement and removal of on-mountain hazard marking, fencing, padding, rope lines, and signage.
   3. Provide on-mountain escort assistance for Groomers during operational hours as needed.
   4. Patrol and monitor slow zones and learning areas for safe skiing/riding.
   5. Assist Patrollers with crowd control/scene safety during emergency responses.
   6. Ensure Mountain Rangers remain visible, approachable and assist with education/enforcement of skier safety programs such as the Responsibility Code and Park Smart.
   7. Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Gunstock Emergency Response Plan, with emphasis on Lift Evacuation plans; assist with the coordination and execution of all emergency responses for winter operations as needed.
   8. Responsible for adhering to skier safety programs, as well as skier safety education and enforcement of the Responsibility Code, Park Smart, and the Area’s Reckless Skier Policy in accordance with NH RSA 225.
   9. Assist with the development and promotion of mountain wide safety programs for members of the public, school outreach programs, and race teams.
