PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH is looking for a creative and adventurous Terrain Parks Supervisor to join our Snowsports team. As the Terrain Parks Supervisor, you will work directly with the Terrain Park Manager and the Snowsports Director to imagine, plan, and create an on-mountain playground for freestyle and terrain park guests of all ages and abilities. As a supervisor, you will be given the opportunity to develop project management skills, leadership skills, scheduling staff, managing a team, as well as event planning and hosting.
YOU’LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME:

Overseeing an effective safety and service presence among Terrain Park staff.

Effectively assist in managing all aspects of Terrain Park operations including, but not limited to park layout, design, and construction; daily opening and closing procedures; feature/terrain inspections and maintenance; equipment inventory and maintenance; staffing and guest relations; continuously monitor revenue, labor, and guest experience to ensure key performance indicators are achieved.

Responsible for the safe construction, repair, and maintenance of all freestyle terrain features; work directly with Safety Services to ensure all aspects of each feature are built and maintained in accordance with industry and resort safety protocol including but not limited to signage, trail markings, fencing, approaches, take-offs, maneuvers, and landings.

Monitor guest usage of park features with an eye toward safety in a helpful and informative manner; drive return visits by consistently delivering an outstanding product and guest experience.

Assist Terrain Park Manager in developing and coordinating freestyle competitions, events, and clinics that drive market reach and improve guest acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty; work closely with the Event Coordinator in advance to ensure interdepartmental communication is smooth and logistical requirements are in place.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Strong working knowledge of terrain park operations

Ability to operate snow grooming equipment, snowmobiles and UTVs

Basic knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication

Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prior experience in designing, building, and maintaining terrain park features.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Required to ski/ride at an intermediate or advanced level on all freestyle terrain in variable weather conditions.

Strong Communication skills. (The use of a communication radio is mandatory)

Must be proficient in Gunstock Safety Policy. (Training Provided)

Frequently required to move about the resort to supervise employee team duties and report to the Manager.

Ability to move 10lbs regularly, up to 25lbs frequently, and up to 50lbs occasionally;

Must be proficient in visually inspecting, detecting, and assessing work areas. (identifying potential hazards and illuminating them)

Prior knowledge of operating hand tools & power tools safely. (Training Provided)

Prior knowledge of operating construction vehicles & machinery safely. (Training Provided)
SCHEDULING:
Position is full-time, seasonal (November-March) and requires 40-48 hours per week during winter operations. During peak operational periods Gunstock is open to the public 7 days/week with weekends being our busiest times. While we offer alternative flexible scheduling, this position does require weekend and holiday availability (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Day).
