Marketing & Sales Director

Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH is looking for a forward-looking and sales-focused Marketing & Sales Director to develop, direct, and implement all aspects of the marketing and sales strategies for the resort. Located in the heart of the Winnipesaukee Lakes Region, Gunstock is among the longest continuously operating ski areas in NH and remains committed to our mission of delivering memorable outdoor adventures for guests of all ages and abilities. Built by the Works Progress Administration in 1937, Gunstock is owned and operated by Belknap County. In recent years the resort has transformed into a four-season recreation area, featuring award-winning camping, adventure park attractions and major events. As the Marketing & Sales Director, you will help bolster Gunstock’s presence in the marketplace and attract new visitors using distinctively fresh approaches to brand development, campaign strategy, customer relationship management and public relations, as well as special events and sponsorships. This position reports directly to the President and General Manager.


  • Strategic Thinking & Planning – Lead the development and implementation of an integrated sales and marketing strategy across all channels (including content, product marketing, advertising, social, experiential, press, media, partnerships) that results in profitable growth and market penetration.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth – Responsible for revenue maximization for the resort; motivate and direct the efforts of the Gunstock Sales team to meet or exceed revenue targets for corporate and group sales; work cross-functionally to ensure organizational cohesion and alignment around sales and marketing strategies.
  • Data Management & Competitive Analysis – Remain informed on industry trends and provide detailed analysis for the development of long-term pricing strategies and complex financial models that accurately forecast profitability and cash flow; make effective use of guest experience measurement tools, such as Net Promoter Score and other industry surveys to develop marketing strategies that strengthen brand loyalty.
  • Events & Functions – Drive bookings for special events and functions, from private weddings to large-scale events, and ensure seamless transition from Sales to Operations; identify and develop creative brand partnerships that expand Gunstock’s reach into new markets.
  • Community Relations – Maintain strong and meaningful relationships with the Gunstock Area Commission, community leaders, and NH businesses to promote tourism in the Lakes Region; act as a positive role model in both social media channels and public forums through active and collaborative participation; ensure all interactions promote a positive brand image for Gunstock.


  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience building a brand’s integrated marketing presence with an exciting portfolio across offline channels (experiential, community, event, radio, TV), digital/online channels (paid and unpaid social, SEO, SEM, email), and partnerships.
  • 10+ years of experience developing creative marketing campaigns, analyzing data, and optimizing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated success leading a creative team to develop compelling brand and product stories with a strong aesthetic sense during conceptualization; ability to effectively manager others in executing deliverables on time and on budget.
  • A passion for skiing and outdoor recreation; intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding ability required in order to support and participate in photo shoots, public relations and special events.
  • Proficient in and enjoy spending time in MS Office, Google Analytics, and BI solutions.
  • Stellar leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other departments on strategic planning and execution.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a marketing, creative or related liberal arts discipline preferred.
